"The way Steven has performed in the Premiership this season, he has to be up there with the best players in Europe," said Lampard.
"I think we should boost our players up and say how good they are. We shouldn't look down on ourselves.
"We should go into the game with France saying 'we're going to play their midfield with world-class players of our own' - and Steven is one of them.
"If I'm playing with the players we've got in our midfield, then I'll be very confident and excited about next Sunday.
"Who wouldn't relish the prospect of taking on that midfield and trying to get the better of them?"
