The Spanish striker has already scored twice for Liverpool since his arrival from Real Madrid, and the manager is confident he will continue to get better.

"I feel he will be appreciated in England because of the style of football here," said Benitez. "He is good in the air, he scores exceptional goals as we saw with our first.

"He is a very good player and we are going to see more and more of it here, our supporters can expect more goals.

"People think that Fernando is only good in the air, but that is not true. He can shoot with both feet and can play as a support striker too.

"When he was in Monaco he played as the second striker while at Real Madrid he was used as a target man.

"He is clever, and a good professional. He gives you two different options as a striker, it is not just about his heading."
