Murphy's apparant fall from grace had led many onlookers to cast doubt upon the future of a man who was crowned player of the year by the Anfield faithful but Houllier insists that the England international is still needed at Liverpool.
Houllier said: "Danny will be involved in some capacity tomorrow. His attitude to my decision has been fantastic. There is no problem with him.
"He knows what I think of him and that he is still a part of my plans for the future of Liverpool. We need him."
