Murphy: We are too strong for a Cisse

The Reds midfielder points to the fact that neither Thierry Henry or Ruud Van Nistelrooy have managed to find the net against Liverpool this season as firm evidence of the strength of Henchoz and Hyypia.

Murphy said: "Look at the games our two centre-backs have played this season against Thierry Henry and Van Nistelrooy.

"Neither of them have scored against us so I feel they can cope with Cisse."

He added: "We know Auxerre have good, technical players who pass the ball well and make you work very hard defensively.

"And with Cisse playing this time we will have to be careful because we all know about his pace and power.

"Cisse is electric, he's quick with an eye for goal. He will have our respect.

"I know he's thought of very highly around Europe and when teams have their best players available they are more formidable.

"But their defenders will be more worried about Michael Owen and Emile Heskey while our defenders can look after Cisse."
