Nearly there

The Reds have disappointingly taken just one point from their last five games after a lengthy unbeaten spell at the start of the campaign.

But Houllier refuses to declare panic stations, and believes that his players are just 10% shy of being back to their best.

He said: "When you are going through a bad patch the important thing is to stick together and to work out where things are going wrong.

"As soon as you do that then you are 90 per cent there in terms of solving the problem. I can tell you we are now 90 per cent of the way there.

"The other ten per cent will come on the field and that is what we have to do now.

"I will not change the way we play. I won't revert to a 3-5-2 or anything like that because that's not my policy.

"You either trust your players or you don't trust them. I trust my players and I know we will turn things around."
