Neill claims he received death threats

The Aussie's challenge put Carragher out of action for four months and was publicly criticised by Gerard Houllier after the incident.

"I didn't mean to break his leg," admitted Neill. "I just went in hard for a tackle.

"I went into the dressing room and shook his hand, and thought that was the end of it. Unfortunately, the manager started going at it, and my name was all through the papers.

"I got a few death threats. I had my mail intercepted for a while. It wasn't too enjoyable."
