Neill deal in the balance

Neill was set to join the Reds but late interest from West Ham may have killed the deal. West Ham have offered the Blackburn defender better terms than Liverpool, terms the Reds are not prepared to match. Rafael Benitez has warned the Australian international to make his mind up quickly or he will look elsewhere.

"We are continuing working on these things but we will not wait. If a player wants to come to play for Liverpool, he must say yes quickly," said the Liverpool boss.

"If he thinks about it for too long, maybe it's a signal it's time for us to look for other players. We have alternatives."
