Neill deal still alive

Liverpool are set to bring the Blackburn full back to Anfield when the transfer window re-opens in January. Neill can leave Blackburn on a free transfer in the Summer so the Reds are likely to pay only a small fee to bring the player to Anfield this season.

Newcastle United also want to sign Neill and are likely to offer a better financial package but Liverpool are confident the lure of competing for trophies will ensure the Australian signs for the Reds ahead of the Geordies.
