Neill to miss Reds return

The Blackburn defender is not the most popular of players since his leg-breaking tackle on Jamie Carragher in the game at Ewood Park in September, and Graeme Souness wants to avoid any possible conflict.

"The manager does not want to give Liverpool an advantage, if by playing Lucas that is a plus for Liverpool. He is thinking about what to do," said assistant boss Tony Parkes.

"We don't want to give them an advantage by making it easy for their team talk and making it a grudge match.

"We have to think about it carefully, feelings ran high at the time."
