New role for Carra

Last updated : 30 May 2006 By Al Campbell
England play Hungary at Old Trafford tonight and Jamie Carragher has been tipped to play in midfield. Carragher will play the holding midfielder role allowing Frank Lampard to push forward. Steven Gerrard is set to play as the second striker, just behind Michael Owen.

Carragher made his Liverpool debut as a midfielder so he will have no problems playing there for England. England boss Sven Goran Eriksson has hinted in the past that the team he sends out tonight will be the team he sends out for the first World Cup game against Paraguay so Carragher will be eager to impress in his new role.
