Newcastle res 4-2 Liverpool res (FT)

A very young and inexperienced Liverpool reserves side lost 4-2 at St. James Park this evening.

Liverpoolfc.tv will of course provide supporters with a detailed match report when compiled.

One thing that we must mention is the performance put in by Richie Partridge. He was outstanding on the left wing and he is maturing well - that was certainly clear tonight.

Some supporters feel that he is too small to make the grade but he is no easy target. He is much stronger these days and defenders are finding it hard to put him on the deck...if they can catch him.

We firmly believe that Richie is on the verge of making the first team, hopefully next season he will break through. He may be a columnist on the site but if he was crap or not making progress, we'd tell you.

And what about Neil Mellor? This boy is another gem, as many of you will know. Not only did he secure the goals for the Reds tonight but he got stuck right in when it counted.
