The French striker believes he is a much better player since coming to Liverpool and puts that down to Benitez.

"Rafa has improved me. I've learnt a lot at this club and the manager has given me a lot of confidence. I thank him for that and now I have to give my best for him," said Ngog.

"I just want to score and do my best for the team, and I know I have the qualities to do these things.

"Every player has to improve some things and I know with time and experience I will be better. I have to be patient, work every day in training and do my best when I get a chance."
