No Bowyer u-turn as Liverpool and Arsenal wait

Leeds United can forget trying to persuade Lee Bowyer to stay at Elland Road says the player's solicitor.

The Yorkshire outfit have tried to pressurise Bowyer into staying with them due to the £850,000 legal debt he owes them but Arsenal and Liverpool are prepared to help him with the money if he quits for one of them.

Both Arsenal and Liverpool are refusing to deny that they are interested although neither club has made a "formal" approach as yet.

Bowyer's solicitor David Geiss insists the player still wants to leave.

"He's made his decision and nothing has changed. He certainly doesn't look like signing a new contract, put it that way," said Geiss.
