Liverpool had beaten Real Madrid 4-0, Man Utd 4-1 and Fulham 5-0 in their last three games and were the form side in the Premiership ahead of the international break.

Although there were mixed results for the Reds on international duty, they have all returned to Melwood brimming with confidence ahead of the run in.

"Maybe it [the international break] wasn't the best time for us because we were playing well but confidence is still high among the players," said Benitez.

"We were in a good position, the team had a lot of confidence, but the mood in training yesterday was still very good."
