No celebrations for under-18s

A 35 yard bullet from Danny Guthrie evened up the match after some sloppy defending, but Liverpool were unable to capitalise.

Under 18s boss, Owens, said: "I was a bit disappointed with the defending for the Stoke goal as it came from a free-kick. It should have been cleared but no-one attacked the ball and it has happened before this season.

"We got on top of them in the second half and Danny Guthrie scored a cracking goal. We had chances to win the game and we should have won it. James Frayne had a good chance to get the winner and it was a good chance missed by us unfortunately to win a game," he added
