No new stadium plans

A sunday newspaper claimed the Reds had once again altered the plans for their new stadium. However, the club have denied the story and say when the stadium is eventually built it will be the stadium showcased last year.

"The story is completely wrong. No-one has been asked to look at increasing the capacity of Anfield with a view to us staying at the present ground," said a club spokesman.
 
"Global market conditions may have delayed the project, but the club remains committed to building a new world class LFC stadium on the site in Stanley Park. Those plans have not changed."
