Houllier says:"I am not a person who lives with regrets," he said. "It is true we were unlucky in the Champions League and it was not to be our season, but it is finished now and we have to adapt our mind to the new competition.

"The past will never equal the present and European nights are what football is all about.

"The history and culture of this club is about winning trophies. We are in this competition again, which we won two years ago, and it would be great to win it again.

"We know we are going through a bad patch, but every team goes through setbacks at some stage and it's all about how you handle it.
