No room for Error for Gerrard

The Reds remain three-points adrift of fourth-placed Newcastle with a game in hand following the 2-2 draw at Leeds United and Gerrard knows only too well that they must begin to win games regularly if they are to usurp Bobby Robson's men.

Gerrard said: "We shouldn't have had the silly results we have been getting. There isn't really any room for error now, but the good thing is that Champions League qualification is in our hands.

"We win our game in hand and we're back in fourth. That's the objective. "I have said that before that I want to be there, that is the stage to play on. We need to go on a run now, but everyone is determined to do that."

A Champions League place is all-important to Gerrard following an FA Cup exit to Portsmouth that left both players and fans with much to contemplate concerning the standing of the Merseyside giants.

Gerrard added: "Nobody here has forgotten it has been a hard week for the fans as well. They just want to see the team they support doing well and after what happened last weekend they were entitled to be frustrated. This is Liverpool Football Club we are talking about."
