Nunez was signed as a right-sided midfielder but the former Real Madrid man believes he can take Cisse's place alongside Milan Baros in the Liverpool attack.
"I played many games in attack last season and it is definitely the position I enjoy playing most. It's the best position for me," said the young Spaniard.
"I've played most games in my career on the right of midfield but if the manager asked me to play up front then I'd be happy to do so.
"Even though Cisse is injured we have lots of attacking options. Garcia is a good player who can score lots of goals and we have Pongolle as well so there are choices."
