Nunez to go under the knife

In only his second training session with the Reds Nunez tore the medial ligament in his left knee and was told by doctors he would be out injured for four weeks. However, the injury has not settled down and the club have sent the player for keyhole surgery to get to the root of the problem.

"We'll have a much better idea how long Antonio will be out for when he has had exploratory keyhole surgery later today," said club spokesman Ian Cotton.
