The former reserves defender signed for Crewe this Summer after impressing on a season long loan deal at Gresty Road. He will face the Reds this afternoon and is looking forward to playing against his old team.
"It will be a bit of a daunting prospect lining up against Liverpool," said O'Donnell.
"I'm really looking forward to it as I'm still good mates with a few of the younger lads, like Paul Anderson and Jack Hobbs.
"I can't speak highly enough of Liverpool's Academy staff in my time there and when eventually I moved on to Melwood the staff were brilliant with me too.
"It can be a bit daunting going to the first-team ground with all those stars around and you can get star-struck.
"But the first-team players there were brilliant with me and that is something I will never forget."
