Ogbuke sparks transfer scramble

The player was at the centre of transfer speculation after signing for Manchester United, allegedly against his will. He refused to join Alex Ferguson's side, and remained at Lyn.

But now Ogbuke, who has scored eight goals in 12 games, is on the market again. His agent, John Shittu, said the battle for the player's signature would be fierce.

"It is serious interest from the same clubs that wanted John Obi Mikel. It is very unlikely that he will be in Norway next year," Shittu said.

Ogbuke himself admitted he was looking forward to a new challenge, adding, "I'm looking forward to leaving FC Lyn, even though I'll miss someone here. I don't know exactly where I'm going, or were I want to go, but I want to go to a big club where I can become even better."

Whilst either Chelsea or Man Utd are thought to be the likely recipient of the player, Liverpool are amongst a host of teams thought to be interested in the Nigerian player.
