The 23-year-old England striker is consistently linked with moves to the likes of Inter Milan and Real Madrid and the Reds failure to qualify for next season's Champions League has led many to believe that he has signed his final contract at Anfield.

The player himself, though, believes his ambitions can still be met at Liverpool - though he admits that the prospect of a move abroad in the future cannot be ruled out at this stage in his career.

Owen said: "Will I play abroad? It is impossible to say. If Liverpool win the league every year, there is not any decision to make.

"I am moving into a new house soon and I am not just going to jump up and go. If we are a successful team, then I will always be happy.

"I am very happy at Liverpool. In an ideal situation, Liverpool are going to be challenging for the league next year. That's what I need to do, challenge for the league and to play in the Champions League."
