"We have attacked more in pre-season than in the past," he said. "More chances have been created and we have scored more goals than in previous seasons.
"You could say that is down to the fact we are not facing Premiership opposition, but the fact we are creating is good."
Owen is also looking forward to playing alongside new signing Harry Kewell.

"Harry Kewell is an exciting signing for this club. I was happy when I first heard him linked here.
"I don't know where the manager intends to play him yet but he can make a huge difference to us.
"He is a big talent who can create and also score goals for us."
