Owen hoping for Reds return

Owen is not happy in Madrid and wants to return to Anfield according to today's Liverpool Echo. Although Owen has not publicly declared he wants to leave Madrid privately it is said he wants to return home.

Rafael Benitez is in the hunt for a new striker with Peter Crouch and Dirk Kuyt being linked with the Reds. Michael Owen is of course a proven Premiership goalscorer but any transfer would depend on the price Madrid put on his head.

Owen left Liverpool for Madrid in an £8m deal and Benitez is unlikely to want to pay much more than that to bring the England international back to L4.
