Liverpool striker Michael Owen was substituted at half-time during England's 3-0 win over Denmark today due to a groin injury.

The Liverpool striker answered his critics once again by scoring for the Three Lions but was replaced by Robbie Fowler as a precaution.

"He had a small groin problem and we did not think it was worth risking him," said England boss Sven-Goran Eriksson. "But I think he will be available for the next game."
