Liverpool striker Michael Owen could miss next week's Champions League clash against Barcelona after coming off with a slight hamstring injury this evening.

Despite the immediate worries, acting boss Phil Thompson remains upbeat about the situation in the hope that a medical examination tomorrow will show no serious damage.

Thommo said: "He's got a tight hamstring. He just got a knock but he's not too bad. We will be keeping our fingers crossed for Barcelona next week, but it will probably be a week to ten days."
