St. Michael is handed the captain's armband
Liverpool striker Michael Owen says he is honoured to be handed the captain's armband for England.

With Beckham out injured, the Liverpool striker has been chosen to lead England against Paraguay tomorrow evening.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Owen, who revealed that the first people he told were his mum and dad, said: "It is something I have always dreamed of. To get it at 22 is a bit sooner than I imagined."

It's not the first time Owen has been a captain as he has captained the Reds before. During a Liverpool game Paul Ince (capt) and Steve McManaman (vice capt) were both sent off and Owen took the armband for the last five minutes of the game.
