Liverpool striker Michael Owen has pulled out of the England squad due to a slight knee injury which he sustained while playing against Ipswich Town at the weekend.
"Sven-Goran Eriksson feels there is no point in risking Michael and so he has returned to Liverpool," said the F.A.'s Head of Communications Paul Newman.
