Liverpool striker Michael Owen believes England losing Steven Gerrard proved a massive blow during the World Cup.
"He would have made a difference for us," said Owen. "He is a great player now and will be even better in the future but this time it just wasn't to be.
"Things like injuries happen in football and we just had to get on with it."
