Acquired for a bit of fun and to fly the flag for the site, one of the them will make their debut this evening at 'Brough Park'.
'Owens Girl', a bitch brought over from Ireland, will make her first appearance in England at 7.30pm this evening (the first race on the card) and we are hoping she will do well.
Owned by 8-year-old Liverpool fan Charlotte Oldham, a friend of the Liverpool striker Michael Owen, 'Owens Girl' will start from trap one in a 480m Flat Handicap.
"I can't wait to see her run," said Charlotte, who has told her teacher the dog is in with a chance.
"I called her 'Owens Girl' because I am Michael Owen's number one fan. I met him last year in the player's lounge at Anfield. I was so happy. He sat me down and talked to me for ages. He also talked to my friend Steve who does Kop Kids on Kop Talk. He asked me if Steve was my boyfriend and I said no! He then said he could be my boyfriend and gave me a big kiss!
"At Christmas Michael sent me a book signed by him and I showed all my friends at school. It was really from him so I sent him a thankyou letter. My nana told me that I was Owen's girl so that's why I called my puppy 'Owens Girl'.
"I also named a star after Michael once and have a big certificate to prove it."
We're sure that our readers who have been with this family run site from day one will be rooting for Charlotte, hopefully we'll have some good news for you over the weekend.
'Bootroom Boy', our other representative, is expected to make his racing debut within the next week or so. He was named by one of our readers following a competition on the site so it looks like we'd better sort out that prize now!
