'Owens Girl' suffers set-back

'Owens Girl', one of the racing greyhounds featured for a bit of fun on Kop Talk, has suffered a minor set-back.

.
Following her winning debut in England earlier this month, 'Owens Girl', owned by 8-year-old Liverpool fan Charlotte Oldham, caused a storm after racing officials in Ireland discovered that there was another dog racing under the same name elsewhere, hence a reluctant name change by Charlotte, due to their admin cock-up.

After hours of discussion with friends at school, Charlotte has decided to rename her dog 'Faster Than Owen'.

"I was a bit sad that I had to change her name but she's still the same dog and Michael will still be able to see how she is doing," said Charlotte, speaking exclusively to her favourite website!

Although she finished 5th in her last outstanding in a much more difficult race, 'Faster Than Owen' will be back in action this Saturday, her form is below.

Meanwhile kennel mate 'Bootroom Boy' has now qualified for racing after making the grade. The 'Top Honcho' x 'Lemon Duchess' pup had his last 480 metre trial on Wednesday clocking an impressive 30.16 seconds (his previous trial was 30.26) and it's only his second time round the four bends at the track.
