The under 18's were beaten 3-1 by Sunderland at the weekend but were probably worthy of a point. Coach John Owens has taken the positives from his side's display.

"They scored after just 30 seconds with a freak goal, it was a goalkeeping gaffe by Dave Roberts. But he did play very well after that. We equalised and for much of the match looked as if we would win it," said Owens.

"We had the wind against us in the first half and hoped to take advantage in the second half.

"We create quite a few chances in the second half and for most of the match. It was one-way traffic and we just couldn't score.

"The result is there and we can't changed that. But picking up the positives, the midfield play and build-up play was very good.We had most of the ball, but we still have the problem of the chances we do create we are not hitting the target with them."
