The reserve team striker had no hesitation in signing a new contract as he is settled on Merseyside and is hopeful of following in Daniel Ayala's footsteps and making his first team debut this season.

"It's fantastic for me to sign the new contract and stay at this club," said Pacheco.

"It is brilliant news for me and my family to stay here for three more years and play for this club.

"This has given me a lot of confidence. We have had a lot of players signing new contracts like Stevie, Fernando, Yossi and Dirk so for me to get one as well makes me very happy.

"I am close to Daniel and I speak with him every day. I have been texting him before and after the games. He has done really well and he is really happy.

"Every time a player from the reserve team gets a chance in the first team it gives us all a real boost. We know if we play well and work hard then the manager is going to look at you and give you a chance."
