The 17 year old striker has played well in all three of Liverpool's pre-season games to date and has earned the praise of fellow forward Dirk Kuyt.

"I think Pacheco has done really well for us," said the Dutch international.

"He's shown everyone what he is capable of here in Switzerland and has worked hard.

"But it's not just him, I also think some of the other youngsters have done really well - and that's not just what you are seeing in the games, they are also impressing during training too."

Reserve team boss Gary Ablett is also impressed with the way Pacheco has handled the step up from the reserves to the first team.

"Dani is a young lad with a lot of potential," he told the club's official website.

"Last season was his first here with us and he more than played his part in what was an exceptional campaign.

"I have always said our main goal is to get players through to Rafa's first-team squad and it is pleasing to see Daniel doing well in the games he has played in pre-season.

"People have to remember, though, that he is only 17 and not to expect too much too soon, but there is no better man than Rafa to help him to achieve what he wants in the game."
