Despite winning the European Cup back in May nobody at Liverpool was recognised in the New Years Honours List. Rick Parry has expressed his suprise at the omissions.
"The decision to overlook key Liverpool players, despite our magnificent achievement in winning the most prestigious club tournament in the world, was frustrating to say the least," Parry told the official LFC magazine.
"Just what do you have to do in a football sense to be recognized by the powers that be?
"I don't want to take anything away from the England cricketers and their wonderful Ashes success, but the fact that the inspirational efforts of Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher were effectively dismissed is little short of staggering."
