Parry: More money available for transfers

Liverpool chief exec Rick Parry is insisting that the money Carlsberg pay under their new sponsorship agreement with the Reds will go towards Gerard Houllier's kitty.

Carlsberg will pay the Liverpool £15million over three years and it will be used directly on player purchases and wages.

"Largely the money will go towards player costs, be it transfer fees or wages," said Parry.

"The money comes in bits over three years but that's how it will be spent because player costs are the biggest element of our costs."
