Parry said: "There's no point in pretending that it won't have an impact. We said when we put our plans together three years ago that it was about getting into the Champions League and staying there.
"It's not about being there once or twice and then dropping out. It's important for us to be regular participants. Being in the Champions League is worth £15m a year.
"A good run in the Uefa Cup can equally be valuable but there's a gap between the two."
