The midfielder got his first start for many months against Southampton in the Worthington Cup last night, a performance Gerard Houllier has since described as 'outstanding'.

And despite rumours linking the Croat with a move away from the club Biscan maintains that he is happy with life in Liverpool.

He said: "The manager said before the game that none of us had anything to prove, but I went out there determined to show everyone what I could do.

"It was a big game for many of us because the Worthington Cup this season is a competition which will give us the chance to show the manager that we can play in the first team.

"It was the first game I had played in the first team for a long time and I enjoyed it. I have played some solid reserve games over the last couple of weeks and so I felt good before this match. I was keen to put on a good performance, but the most important thing was that we won the game.

"Playing in defence isn't a problem for me because the manager has asked me to play there in recent reserve matches. I felt comfortable. However, I know it is going to be difficult to play there on a regular basis for the first team because we have so many good defenders at the club.

"But I can take a lot of confidence from last night because I thought I played well in a good team performance. Southampton sent out a strong side, but we deserved to win.

"Of course I'm enjoying it. I'm working with world class players every day and I am continuing to improve as a player.

"I like the city, I like the people and I like my lifestyle. Of course I want to play more games, but all I can do is work hard and do my best
