Former Newcastle striker Patrick Kluivert has revealed he wants to see Liverpool win the Premier League title this season, rather than Manchester City.
Kluivert, whose son Justin is currently plying his trade in Serie A with Roma, admits that his connection and affiliation with Dutch counterparts Virgil van Dijk and Georginio Wijnaldum means he is pulling for the Reds to end their title drought, which dates back to 1990 and the old First Division.
"Well, in Liverpool they have two Dutch players of course, so for me Liverpool can win the title," Kluivert began.

"It's a very big challenge for them because I think Manchester City are really putting the gas on the peddle."
Kluivert went on to acknowledge that City's performance against Chelsea had been nothing short of total domination - with Maurizio Sarri's side having no answers to the Citizens style of play.
"I think that City dominated that game. I think that they really deserved the win, they actually battered Chelsea. Chelsea didn't really have an answer to the playing style of Manchester City."
Despite the obvious pressure being put on them, Liverpool have only lost once in the Premier League this season - against City early on in January, and the 3-0 win over Bournemouth at the weekend will perhaps restore faith after back-to-back draws against Leicester and West Ham saw Liverpool's mental fortitude called into question.
