"I feel very satisfied," said Pellegrino. "At my age it's a great satisfaction that this opportunity comes along. I have always wanted to play in English football."
With Henchoz set to leave the club soon Pellegrino will provide cover for Jamie Carragher and Sami Hyypia and could make his debut in the Carling Cup semi-final with Watford.
