Pennant deal close?

Pennant could be a Liverpool player by the end of the week as the Reds seem prepared to match Birmingham's valuation of the player. Rafael Benitez had been looking at other options, such as Daniel Alves of Sevilla, but with that move seemingly stalled it looks like the Liverpool boss will turn to Pennant.
