Liverpool play Chelsea in the football season's annual curtain raiser this afternoon. Lifelong Red Jermaine Pennant is eager to face the champions and hopefully win his first trophy as a Liverpool player.

"Playing against Chelsea at Cardiff is something I am really looking forward to being involved in," said the Reds' new right winger.

"It doesn't get any bigger or better than the champions playing the FA Cup winners.

"I am already aware that there is a lot of rivalry between the teams, but my record against Chelsea is relatively good. I haven't been on the losing side against them too many times and hopefully that can continue."
