Performance angers Ablett

Liverpool started the game well and took a deserved lead, but then some poor play and a lack of concentration allowed Man City to turn a 1-0 defecit into a 3-1 win.

"We lost the game because there wasn't enough players on the field to take enough responsibility," said an angry Ablett.

"The three goals we conceded were very disappointing. We lost the ball each time and went walkabout and let the runners come in behind us. For their second goal we left Emiliano Insua on his own to mark five players and it's just unacceptable.

"I didn't think we were great in the first half but we deserved to take the lead and could have scored more when we had one or two shots that flashed across their goal, but the way we lost the game in the second half was very disappointing.

"In our last three performances we have done really well and myself and Hughie McAuley have been really pleased but this performance was unacceptable. We have to be better and we will make it our business to make them better."
