Players told to put Chelsea defeat behind them

The Reds are only back for 48 hours before they face Blackburn at Anfield and Benitez wants his side to put their mistakes against Chelsea behind them before they face Mark Hughes' side on Saturday.

Benitez said: "The situation is a problem for all the big clubs. We cannot work properly but we have to be aware of these things at a big club.

"But training with three or four players is not the best solution for changing things and improving. After a defeat like Chelsea we cannot prepare the players properly for the next game.

"Ideally I would have liked to have the players here on the Monday morning after the game, watching the video and analysing and correcting the mistakes we made.

"We also like to give them support and confidence as soon as we can but we had to wait until they came back. We have some time before Saturday but it's not the ideal situation.

"The players must understand that they need to forget as soon as possible. They always need to analyse their mistakes and change things as soon as they can.

"We were playing well up to that game. Okay, we were drawing many games but we were not losing and the team was strong.

"Yes, we have made some unusual mistakes in defence in the last two league games. We need to analyse why and find the solution but I continue with a lot of confidence because the team has been working well."
