Police drop Rooney case

"We have now had an opportunity to speak with supporters who complained to Merseyside Police over Wayne Rooney's behaviour," said a police spokesman.

"We also have had the opportunity to view a video recording of the incident and as a result Mr Rooney will be seen by a senior officer at an early opportunity in the presence of the manager and will be given suitable advice.

"No further police action is contemplated once this course of action has been followed."
