Premier League chief due to visit Anfield

Premier League Chief Exec Richard Scudamore is visiting every Premiership club this month to discuss plans for a dedicated Premier League satellite channel.

Liverpool will launch their own channel when they get their arse into gear but the Premier League are looking at options for when the current deal with Sky expires.

It's only a matter of time before ITV Sport joins the Sky platform (when the two broadcasters finally stop fighting) with ITV Digital facing closure threats. Cable giants Telewest and NTL are themselves in debt and all three are likely to bid for new rights when the existing Sky deal expires some time from now.

The Premier League believe that they could make more money themselves with a dedicated channel if marketed properly and this is why Scudamore is visiting places such as Anfield for tea and biscuits.
