PSG's assistant manager Sarr Boubacar, himself a former Senegal star, has revealed that Diao is one of a number of African players the Parisian club are looking to entice.
Boubacar said: "PSG are interested in signing African players more than we ever have been before.We have just signed the Cameroon international Modeste M'Bami from Sedan.
"We are equally on the trail of Salif Diao as he will probably not play many matches for Liverpool."
