Rafa backs Bellamy

Bellamy hasn't scored for the Reds since netting against Maccabi Haifa on his debut. However, Rafa Benitez has praised the Wales striker for his all round performances and says it is only a matter of time before he scores again.

"I have said to Craig the same thing I said to Peter Crouch last season when he wasn't scoring. I have told Craig he is playing well and working hard for the team, so I am happy," said Benitez.

"I am sure he will score goals as well as continuing to create chances for others.

"He knows what he must do in games, sometimes he will go on runs knowing he will not receive the ball. But that creates space for everyone else - the key is teamwork.

"He is really focused, an example to the rest of the team because he always wants to win.

"When you have four strikers, it is not easy to play them all. There is always someone not playing, but they know and understand. We will always try to change players because of the amount of games and competition.

"The problem for me is that all the strikers are fit and working well. Fowler is training very well, as is Crouch.

"It is a tough decision but I know I can change things around and we will still have two fine strikers on the pitch."
