Liverpool were held to a goalless draw by Middlesbrough on Saturday but the Reds dominated the game from start to finish and Rafa Benitez believes his side will win more often than not with performances like that.

"You need your players to have an offensive mentality and we had that," said the Reds' boss.

"In the second half it was almost like we were playing back at Anfield.

"When you are a manager and your team doesn't create many chances you are massively worried.

"But when you create chances and your players get forward so much like we did here you will win 99 times out of 100 when you play like this.

"They had a lot of defenders back and we knew that, so that's why we attacked the near post and why we played short corners.

"We tried to move the defenders because we knew they were good in the air."
